Izabella Petrut, Romanian jewelry designer, presents works from her series „A Love Story”, at the Viennese Gallery V&V. The opening of the exhibition is on the 22nd of July, between 13.00-19.00, at Bauernmarkt 19, 1010 Vienna. The collection impresses through the personal element of the story and the reuse of everyday objects brings out this feeling. „These pieces of jewelry are an accumulation of feelings, memories, years that have been left behind. The jewelry designer exhibits at the V&V gallery together with Ulrike Halmschlager, Austrian artist who creates photography, filmography works and paintings. For this occasion the artist presents textile works. The exhibition can be visited till the middle of September, from Wednesday till Friday, between 13:00-19:00 and on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays on appointment.
Izabella Petrut is an award winning contemporary jewelry designer & maker. She has acquired practical and theoretical skills by completing a Bachelors’ (2007) and a Masters’ (2009) degree in Design at the University of Arts and Design, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She has graduated the GJ3 Specialisation program at Alchimia, School of contemporary Jewelry, Florence, Italy (2012) with professor Ruudt Peters. At the moment, she conducts her doctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
In 2019 Izabella Petrut was one of the 13 creators nominated for the ELIGIUS award, her collection „A Love Story” being included in the group exhibition presented at MAK (Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna), at Kunst im Traklhaus in Salzburg and at The Jewelry Museum in Pforzheim, Germany. The artist experiments with different techniques and materials, amongst which silver, gold, iron, copper, pigments, resin, natural and precious stones, textiles, paper, toys or ready-made objects.
