The winners of the Sarajevo Film Festival 2021 awards were announced in the ceremony held at the National Theater in Sarajevo on Thursday, the 19th of August. The 27th edition of the international film festival took place between 13th – 20th August. Nine Romanian film productions and co-productions were presented, among which five films were part of the competition programme.
The award Heart of Sarajevo for best student film was presented to the director Alexandru Mironescu for the film ”Summer Planning / Planuri de vacanță”, screened as world premiere. The jury was made up of: Ivan Bakrač (director, Montenegro), Aleksandra Odić (director, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Zeynep Dilan Süren (director, Turkey). The prize of 1,000 € was sponsored by the Regional Cooperation Council.
The film ”The Same Dream / Același vis” (director and screenplay writer Vlad Petri), screened as world premiere in the documentary film competition programme, received the Special Jury Mention. The jury componence was: Cecilia Lidin (Film Consultant, Denmark), Jean-Pierre Rehm (General Delegate of FIDMarseille – International Cinema Film Festival, France), Mila Turajlić (Director, Serbia).
In the Cinelink Drama, the Croatian Audiovisual Center Drama Award was won by the film project ”Hooked / Pescuit sportiv” (director and screenplay writer Adrian Sitaru). The prize of 15.000 € is meant to stimulate the development process of the selected project.
The Romanian Cultural Institute in Vienna was a partner of Sarajevo Film Festival for the 6th time, supporting the Romanian productions presented in this edition. Over 30 Romanian filmmakers participated in the festival, also in the programmes dedicated to the Cinema industry: CineLink and Talents Sarajevo.
