The Romanian Cultural Institute in Vienna and the association Galeria Artep present on Aprilie 26, at 7 pm, a Curator Talk with Cristiana Ursache, the curator of the exhibition "Memento Vivere" by the Romanian artist Claudiu Ciobanu. The exhibition can be visited until April 26, 2023 at the ICR Vienna.
The exhibition MEMENTO VIVERE is a visual poem by Romanian artist Claudiu Ciobanu dedicated to the human and the intensity of life in a technology-occupied world.
“Posthumanism has transcended the boundaries of philosophy and is increasingly found in the visual arts in critical, utopian, provocative, or imaginative situations. Claudiu Ciobanu transforms the idea of communication from text to gesture and this is reflected in the only work in the exhibition with two figures - mother and daughter. Through the simple gesture of a motherly hug, the artist encapsulates a deep, ancestral communication that technology can never replace. Communicating through touch is what makes us want to live, to remember, to feel - memento vivere," explains the exhibition's curator, Cristiana Cause.
